Who is The Couch Cook? Well, it’s me, Shane (I know.. I’m in the kitchen in this photo and not on the couch, my bad). Right now most of you know who I am but for formality sake, consider this an introduction. 😎 - From a young age I had a unique passion for food, it always seemed to peak my interest whenever mom or anyone else was cooking, and even though it never was my childhood dream to become a chef, it certainly was by no chance I ended up as one. The aromas & sounds of the kitchen were a harmonious collaboration to my senses at this young age and as I developed as chef I never forgot where the foundations of my passion came from. - A few years ago I left my chef whites behind in the kitchen that had a major role in sculpting me into the man I am today to pursue a different path, leaving a massive void in me and my character. I’m here today to create an outlet on a level that I am passionate about to share with you everything that I have learned and continue to learn in my culinary adventure. You will hear lots more about my journey and how I ended up here when I release my first podcast episodes, but for now here are some fun facts about me: • I am married to my lovely wife @msjenniferball and we have two boys, Kash and Holt. 👨👩👦👦 • Up until recent most of my culinary experience has been in higher end restaurants and I found it most challenging to cook basic home cooked meals. 🤣 • I sous vide a lot, you will find out why soon. 🤙 • Most people who know me would say that I am an old soul stuck in a millennial body. 👴🏻 • I am allergic to A LOT of foods. 😷 • Minus the foods I’m allergic too there is almost literally nothing that I dislike to eat or won’t eat - I firmly believe that if I don’t like one food item prepared one way there is certainly another way it can be prepared that I will love it, vice versa. — Now YOU tell me!
